Wilderness Courses

Wilderness courses provide training on how to appropriately manage illness and injury when transport to the nearest treatment facility will take hours or days due to being in remote rural locations, wilderness areas, or even urban areas during disaster situations. Designed for those who work or travel in remote locations, these courses will teach you what to look for and what to do in the event of an emergency, and will direct you to the most appropriate type of care.

The text used is the official collaboration between the Wilderness Medical Society, the largest membership society in the world devoted to wilderness medical issues, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Certifications are issued through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute and are valid for two years.
