Wilderness First Aid training teaches you how to appropriately manage illness and injury when transport to the nearest treatment facility will take hours or days due to being in remote rural locations, wilderness areas, or even urban areas during disaster situations. Designed for those who work or travel in remote locations, this course will teach you what to look for and what to do in the event of an emergency, and will direct you to the most appropriate type of care. It is accepted by state health departments across the USA and is recognized by national organizations such as the American Camp Association and the Boy Scouts of America.

This Wilderness First Aid course is focused on hands-on training. You will be required to review the text, view online presentations, and take practice quizzes BEFORE attending the in-person class. Prior knowledge of basic first aid is highly recommended.

The text used is the official collaboration between the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Wilderness Medical Society, the largest membership society in the world devoted to wilderness medical issues. Certifications are issued through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute and are valid for two years.
