Wilderness First Aid - Standard - bridge course

  • Mauch Chunk Lake Park 625 Lentz Trail Jim Thorpe, PA, 18229 United States (map)

Wilderness First Aid provides information on how to handle common injuries and illnesses when medical care is an hour away or more. This 16 hour standard level course is accepted by state health departments across the USA (even Alaska!). It is recognized by national organizations such as the American Camp Association and the Boy Scouts of America. This course is perfect for anyone whose job or position requires Wilderness First Aid certification.

On Sunday, November 19th, we will be at Mauch Chunk Lake Park from 6:00am-6:00pm. Plan to spend the day outdoors training and hiking. We will be practicing the hands-on skills previously learned in the WFA-Basic classroom course: bandaging, splinting, evacuating a patient, and more.

*** For the 16 hour course certification you must register for the basic course for the first 8 hours of training AND register on this page for the rest of the training (day 2). If you have recently taken the basic course with us and want to upgrade to the standard certification, register for the rest of the training (day 2). You may also register if you just want training and do not need certification.

Certifications are valid for two years. Students will receive a WFA Field Guide (included). Minimum enrollment for this course is 6 students. If minimum enrollment is not met the course may be canceled at the instructor's discretion. If the course is canceled for any reason students will be notified ahead of time and registration fees will be applied to the next month's course or refunded. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
