Wilderness First Aid provides information on how to handle common injuries and illnesses when medical care is an hour away or more. This one day course is great for hikers, climbers, and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as Search & Rescue crews, Firefighters, and EMS personnel. Students will learn to assess a patient, recognize and treat altitude illness, hemorrhage, sprains, fractures, insect and animal bites, infection and more.
Students will receive a WFA eBook and certifications are valid for two years. There are no prerequisites for this course but EMS providers will receive 6.5 continuing education hours (5 med/trauma and 1.5 other).
Minimum enrollment for this course is 6 students. If minimum enrollment is not met the course will be canceled. If the course is canceled for this or any other reason, all registration fees will be refunded. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact us.
